What is CBT Therapy?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective form of psychotherapy based on the principle that thoughts, feelings and behaviours are interconnected. Sometimes, we can get stuck in negative patterns of thinking and unhelpful behaviours.
CBT aims to identify those unhelpful thoughts and behaviours so you can develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and responding. This will lead to improvements in how you feel which is important for your overall wellbeing.
CBT can lead to:
-- A reduction in symptoms of anxiety and/or low mood
-- Lasting change and long-term benefits outside of therapy
-- Increased self-awareness and self-development
-- Healthier coping strategies
-- Greater control over managing your unhelpful thoughts and behaviours
-- Greater resilience
-- Improved emotion regulation
-- Improvement in overall quality of life
